Vickie DeMan

Vickie A. DeMan, age 68, of Alta, Iowa died January 23, 2021 at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa Funeral services will take place Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Alta where masks and social distancing will be required. To watch the recording of the service, please visit Vickie's tribute wall. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Alta. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Alta is in charge of the arrangements. Vickie Ann Fiedler was born May 29, 1952 in LeMars, Iowa the daughter of Roman and LaVonne (Kunkel) Fiedler. As an infant, Vickie was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, Iowa and later confirmed at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Oyens, Iowa. She later became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Alta. Growing up, Vickie attended country school and then attended St. Catherine’s Grade School. She graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1970. On June 2, 1972, Vickie was united in marriage to John DeMan in Alta. Together, they were blessed with three children: Mary, John Jr. and Jason. Vickie enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery and reading. In her spare time, she loved bowling. Vickie enjoyed music, especially, Elvis Presley and visiting Graceland. Family was important to Vickie and she treasured being able to spend time with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, John DeMan of Alta, Iowa; children: John DeMan Jr. of Alta, Iowa; Mary (Kelly) Hand of Cherokee, Iowa; Jason (Misty) DeMan of LeMars, Iowa; mother, LaVonne Fiedler of Remsen, Iowa; grandchildren: Cole Aeder, Gavin Fisher, Josie Matgen, Taelyn Hand, Savannah Hand; great grandchildren: Nevaya Calamanco and Skyla Calamanco; siblings: Donna (Paul) Feller of Aurora, Colorado; Gary (Barb) Fiedler of Greely, Colorado; Rick (Pam) Fiedler of Storm Lake, Iowa; Bonnie (Chuck) Hahn of Struble, Iowa; Loren (Julie) Fiedler of Alta, Iowa; Dale (Sheila) Fiedler of Hospers, Iowa; Floyd (Deb) Fiedler of LeMars, Iowa; Gail (Steve) Thill of Cherokee, Iowa; Carl (Lisa) Fiedler of LeMars, Iowa; John (Shannon) Fiedler of Remsen, Iowa; Twyla (Todd) Lindsey of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; Todd (Sara) Fiedler of Bardstown, Kentucky; Jamie (Becky) Fiedler of Remsen, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Roman Fiedler; grandparents: Mary (Boever) Edward Kunkel; John and Elizabeth (Mausen) Fielder; nephew, Shane Feller; sister-in-law, Stephanie Fiedler; grandson, Dakota Hand; and parents-in-law, Henry and Mini DeMan.
