Carleen A. Launderville

Carleen A. Launderville, age 71, of Alta, Iowa died Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake, Iowa after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. A Funeral Mass will take place Monday, February 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Carleen Ann Launderville was born December 19, 1951 to Carl and JoAnn (Thompson) Richardson in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She graduated from Laurens Community High School in 1970. Carleen was an active member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa. Carleen and Dennis enjoyed vacationing in Branson, Missouri where she was also a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Carleen married Dennis Lee Launderville on April 3, 1971 at the Sacred Heart Church in Laurens, Iowa. The couple was blessed with five children: Jennifer, Andrew, Sarah, Adam, and Katie. Carleen loved children. She worked in daycare while raising her own children and foster children. She served her community as a member of the Alta Fire Department Firettes. In her free time, Carleen enjoyed crafting, cross-stitching, crocheting, and reading books. She loved spoiling her two faithful companions, Murphy and Bailey. More than anything, Carleen treasured her time with family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Left to cherish Carleen’s memory are her beloved husband, Dennis Launderville of Alta, Iowa; children: Jennifer Launderville of Alta, Iowa; Andrew (Christine) Launderville of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; Sarah Launderville of Everly, Iowa; Adam (Stephanie Jones) of Lawton, Oklahoma; Katie (Justin) Nehring of Storm Lake, Iowa; brothers: Bill (Sherri) Richardson of Laurens, Iowa; Dan (Melissa) Richardson of Waukee, Iowa; Robert Richardson of Waterloo, Iowa; sisters: Lori Richardson of Waterloo, Iowa; Suzanne (Greg) Mabeley of Aiken, South Carolina; brothers-in-law: Fr. Dale Launderville O.S.B. of Collegeville Minnesota; Gary (Sandy) Launderville of Lake Ozark, Missouri; Kevin (Denise) Launderville of Hudsen, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Michelle (Roger) Nolan of Northlake, Texas; Lori Launderville of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren: Emily Launderville of Alta, Iowa; Molly Launderville of Thornton, Colorado; Elizabeth Launderville of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; Mackenzie Stevens of Storm Lake, Iowa; Lachlan and Garrick Jones of Lawton, Oklahoma; Henry Launderville of Lawton, Oklahoma; Camden and Stryker Nehring of Storm Lake, Iowa; great grandchild: Theodorus Falls; extended family and numerous friends. Carleen was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and JoAnn (Thompson) Richardson; parents-in-law: Lee and Maxine Launderville; and grandson: Adam Launderville Jr.
