Carl Henry Lange

Carl Lange, age 70, of Fonda, Iowa died Sunday, February 08, 2015 at the Fonda Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fonda. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Fonda. Burial will follow in the Cedar Cemetery in Fonda. Visitation will take place Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Fonda. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to your local youth baseball program or local police department. The Mahaney Funeral Home in Fonda is in charge of the arrangements. Carl Henry Lange was born the son of Elmer and Clarice (Knudtson) on October 11, 1944. He grew up in the Blue Earth, Minnesota area. He graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1963. He attended the Austin Area Vocational Technical School and worked in several farm implements. He served as a peace officer in Slater, Iowa before he moved to Mankato, Minnesota and started Lange Trucking. He was blessed to be the father of four sons and two daughters: Gary, Steven, Dean, Lee, Mary, and Margaret. He worked hard to provide a good life for his family. He retired in October 2001, because of his health. Carl was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fonda, Iowa. He loved the trucking business and took great pride in his trucks and keeping them in top shape as not to have trouble on the road. He saw most of the states in the United States. He enjoyed watching TV westerns, football, the weather channel, and country music, but what he cherished most was spending time with his family. Carl married Mary Miller on December 26, 1970 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pomeroy, Iowa. They enjoyed many trips to Branson, Missouri and spent six winters in Arizona. He will be missed by all who knew him. Carl was preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Clarice Lange; brother, Mark Lange; and twin daughters: Mary and Margaret. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons: Gary (Cassie), Steve (Jill), Dean (Jenn Ghelf), and Lee (Mari); eleven grandchildren; two great granddaughters; sister, Jan (John) Huss of Peoria, Arizona; brother, Brian (Jeanette) Lange of Felton, California; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
