The Fratzke & Jensen Family Resource Center

In our Family Resource Center, we offer a full range of products to help families and guests attending the service create a more meaningful tribute to their loved one.

Tasteful display modules are an integral part of the Fratzke & Jensen Family Resource Center, and are carefully planned to help families view and understand the full range of products available. Here are displayed a carefully crafted assortment of closed quarter-sections of caskets, arranged so families can easily see a progression of value. The Center also focuses on creating a warm, comforting environment that helps families make a more informed purchasing decision.

You Have Many Choices at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home

At Fratzke & Jensen, we believe the funeral ceremony is about how your loved one lived their life and your place in that life. We strongly encourage families to bring in photos, mementos and remembrances that will be displayed at the funeral home. Personalizing the casket, exterior and interior, by color selection, type of fabric, individualized corner pieces or by engraving will help tell the story of your loved one. Flowers, the music chosen, memorial folders and video tributes all contribute to this final chapter. With so many personal and individual choices to be made, it is important that you receive, from one of our staff members, the options that are available to you.

Traditional Service

Many families prefer to choose a traditional worship-oriented funeral ceremony. A traditional ceremony typically includes:

• Viewing at the place of worship or funeral home, either prior to the ceremony or the evening before
  
• The funeral ceremony itself, conducted at the funeral home or place of worship
  
• Procession to the cemetery for a final committal service
  

Choosing a traditional service does not mean being without choice. Each funeral at Fratzke & Jensen is tailored to your preferences. Some of the areas that can reflect your personal choice are:

• The flowers for the ceremony
  
• Music – favorite selections enjoyed during life
  
• Merchandise – the casket selection, clothing (either purchased from us or brought in by family members)
  
• Memorial folders
  
• A collection of photographs, mementos or remembrances to be placed in the casket or displayed in their own special section
  

Memorial Service

A Memorial Service is one held when the deceased is not present. It may take place at the funeral home, the family’s home, a church, or even outdoors. This is a time to remember your loved one through fellowship with friends and family. The memorial service can also be an addition to a traditional funeral service. For example, having a traditional funeral service here and then a memorial service back in the deceased’s home town. Or, a memorial service may be held after a burial or cremation if this meets the need of the family.

Committal Service

The Committal Service is a brief service at the gravesite after a traditional funeral service but prior to the burial. This is where family and friends say their final good-byes at the final resting place by placing flowers or sometimes sand on the casket. If the committal service is the only service than it becomes what we call a Graveside Service and is accompanied by a visitation the night before. The graveside service is a more lengthy service consisting of scripture reading, eulogy, poetry, and music.

Aftercare

Aftercare is an important part of every funeral. We here at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Homes feel that the special care that we provide to you during the funeral process should not cease once the funeral is over. Everyone experiences death in a very personal and private way. We are here to help you through that process with our continued care, understanding, and personal experience.

We offer a variety of resources that will be made available to you when you are ready, including our library of publications that may be checked out to individuals wishing to read any of our titles. Please call us to inquire about our library.

Hope and Healing Partners

We also have partnered with other area funeral homes to create Hope and Healing Partners. It is within this partnership that we present free of charge Grief Support Group sessions for six weeks each spring and fall. These group sessions are open to anyone in the community who wishes to come.  We also present a special program, “Hope and Healing for the Holidays and Beyond” each year before the holiday season begins. This program shares options to help families meet the challenge of living through the holidays without someone special. This program is also without cost and available to anyone who chooses to join us.
