Shane Handy, age 37, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 in Storm Lake.

Friends may call on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present from 1:00 to 3:00.
Burial will be at a later date. There will be no other services.

Shane Handy was born July 23, 1970 in Spencer, Iowa, the son of Everette Handy and Debbie (Erichsen) Friedrichsen. He attended Storm Lake Community School, completing his education in 1987.

Shane was an outgoing young man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He spent many hours writing songs and playing his beautiful music. He was also very artistic. He loved his dog, Slammer. He liked his work, both here and at his previous job in Colorado. He valued his many great friendships in Colorado, as well as those he held here in Iowa. Shane will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his father, Everette Handy of Spencer, Iowa; his mother and stepfather, Debbie (Erichsen) Friedrichsen and Scott Friedrichsen of Schaller, Iowa; his daughter, Pesha Handy of Hawarden, Iowa; brothers Jade (Elizabeth) Handy of Des Moines, Iowa; Dustin Handy of Laurens, Iowa; and Toby Handy of Emmetsburg, Iowa, sisters Melanie Bressman of Spencer, Iowa and Jeŕal Bussell of Loveland, Colorado; maternal grandmother, Helen Erichsen of Des Moines, Iowa; and paternal grandparents, Junior and Estelle Handy of Spencer, Iowa; extended family and many friends.

Shane was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Floyd Erichsen.
