Robert W. Kinney, age 79, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, Iowa.

There will be no public services for Mr. Kinney. Acknowledgements can be mailed to: Mrs. Mona Kinney, Resident of B.V. Manor, P.O. Box 1266, Storm Lake, Iowa, 50588. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Robert was born on December 4, 1928 in rural Odebolt, Iowa.

Following his marriage to Patricia Jersey, the couple was blessed with four children: Eugene, Timothy, Jeffrey and Michael.  On December 2, 1979, Robert was united in marriage to Mona McLauglin.

Over the years, Robert farmed in the Cleghorn area and later, painted houses, mowed lawns and did yard work for a living. He loved working outside and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Additionally, Robert enjoyed socializing with people and will be deeply missed. He will be remembered as a loving husband and a hard worker.  

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 29 years, Mona Kinney of Storm Lake; his children: Eugene Kinney of Meridan, Iowa; Timothy Kinney and his wife, Angie, of Meridan, Iowa; Jeffrey Kinney of Storm Lake; Michael Kinney and his wife, Sarah, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; grandchildren: Levi Kinney and wife Rebecca, Gina Kinney, Zachary, Emma and Wyatt Kinney; one great-grandchild; and other extended family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
