May E. Tripp

MayMay E. Tripp, age 103, of Schaller, Iowa died on Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Odebolt Nursing & Rehab Center in Odebolt, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Schaller United Methodist Church.  Burial will be in the Cook Township Cemetery in rural Schaller.  The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home of Schaller is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 3-5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2008 at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller.

May Elizabeth Eggleston was born on July 28, 1904 to Spencer and Nellie (Elmore) Eggleston.  She attended her first eight years of education in country school, and later graduated from Schaller High School.  Following graduation, May enrolled in a two year course at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake.  In 1983, May was crowned Centennial Queen for the Schaller centennial celebration.

In 1934, May was united in marriage to Randall Tripp at the Methodist parsonage in Odebolt, Iowa.  The couple was blessed with three children: Urban, Ralph and Gerald.

May was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Schaller where she held positions in all the available offices over the course of her life. She loved to cook and was a member of the Merry Gardeners.

May lived her life to the fullest and found much enjoyment in her family and friends.  She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her love of entertaining.  Over the years, May loved to go swimming, dancing, going out to eat at the Ida Grove Pizza Hut, traveling, helping on the farm, making coffee and completing cross word puzzles. She took much pride in watching her family grow and prosper and loved any chance she had to help her children in whatever capacity they needed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three sons:  Urban Tripp and his wife Dolly of Kiron, Iowa, Ralph Tripp of Schaller and his special friend, Lucille Fitzsenry of Storm Lake and Gerald Tripp and his wife Charlotte of Schaller; grandchildren: Roxanne (Gary Neddermeyer) Neumann of Deloit, Iowa, Rousanne (Nathan) Tripp of Schaller, Marie (Bill) Morris of Melbourne, Florida and Jeremy Tripp of Phoenix, Arizona; great grandchildren: Jackie Troxel of Kiron, Angie (Nathan) Tremblay of Kiron, Randi Tripp of Schaller, Kristen Tripp of Schaller, Justin Neumann of Kiron, Shane Neumann of Fort Dodge and Kathryn Morris of Melbourne, Florida; great-great grandchildren: Hayley and Payge Troxel of Kiron and Brody, Ethan and Preston Tremblay of Kiron; extended family and many friends.

May was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Randall; her grandson, Nathan R. Tripp; her siblings: Roy B. Eggleston, Marvin E. Eggleston, Lillian B. Woodke and Nellie Mabel in infancy.
