Lola F. Naslund
Lola F. Naslund, age 75, of Galva, Iowa, died February 23, 2008 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Funeral services for Mrs. Naslund will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Galva. Burial will be in the Galva Township East Cemetery in Galva. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
Friends may call Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller, where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00.
Lola was born August 23, 1932 in Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Fern (Adolf) Hansen. She spent her youth in the Cherokee area and received her education in the Cherokee school system, graduating from Cherokee Washington High School.
On June 1, 1952 Lola was united in marriage to Earl Naslund at the Galva Methodist Church. Their marriage was blessed with two sons: Doug and Jeff, and three daughters: Love’e and Rane’e, and Michelle. Lola and Earl lived on their farm near Schaller for much of their married life before moving into Galva.
Lola was a very active and faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Galva, where she taught Sunday School and Confirmation classes. She was a member of the UMW, Women’s Auxiliary, Eastern Star and the local chapter of the Red Hat Society.
Lola’s greatest passion in life was her family, all of whom she dearly loved. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing her delicious dishes with family and friends at all kinds of get-togethers and reunions. She loved to give and receive hugs and kisses from those she loved. A talented seamstress, Lola took great pride and joy in making countless items of clothing for her girls. She will be remembered as a compassionate and caring person and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are son Doug (Sharon) Naslund of Pueblo, Colorado; son Jeff (Lisa) Naslund of Galva; twin daughters, Love’e (Dominic) Giannangeli of Lincoln University, Pennsylvania, and Rane’e (Bill) Schouviller of Minnetonka, Minnesota; daughter Michelle (Roger) Trimble of Alta, Iowa; grandchildren: Michael and David Vansant, Christopher Naslund, Tiffany and Tony Giannangeli, Matthew and Caitlin Schouviller, Lee and Lance Anderson, Krystal (Craig) Peterson, Dillon and Shelve’e Naslund; great-grandchild Rocco Giannangeli; sister Shirley (Eugene) Babcock of Ames, Iowa; sister Janet (Lyle) Schubert of Lake City, Iowa; sister-in-law Edna Hansen of Boise, Idaho; brother-in-law Jay Naslund of Waxahachie, Texas; sister-in-law Erma Kyle of Madison, Wisconsin; many extended family members and a host of friends.
Preceding Lola in death were her parents, Frank and Fern Hansen; her beloved husband, Earl; one brother, Donald Hansen; and sisters Joyce Hurd and Love’e Piggot.
