Loretta Broderick, age 98, of Odebolt, Iowa and formerly of Schaller, Iowa died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in Ida Grove.

Funeral mass will be held Monday, January 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Schaller. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery at Schaller, under the direction of the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller.

Friends may call Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller, where a parish vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Mary Loretta Broderick was born on May 18, 1909 in Schaller, Iowa, the daughter of William and Delia (Whalen) Broderick. She was baptized in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Schaller on May 23, 1909.

Loretta never married and lived in Schaller all of her life except for the fifteen years that she worked away from Schaller as a nurse. She was affiliated with St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Joseph Rosary Society.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; William and Delia Broderick; a brother, Joseph Broderick; and three sisters, Frances Broderick, Mrs. Leo Haselhoff (Leona) and Mrs. Glenn Mains (Hannah).

Left to cherish her memory are nieces, nephews and friends. She will be deeply missed.
