H. Dwayne Stille
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in rural Newell, Iowa. Burial is at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Immanuel E&R Cemetery in rural Schaller, Iowa under the direction of the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Visitation will be held 5-8:00 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Dwayne Stille was born on January 14, 1926 in Sac City, Iowa to Herman and Loretta (Burkhardt) Stille. As an infant he was baptized in the Immanuel Reformed Church in rural Schaller. Growing up, Dwayne attended school at Hayes and graduated high school in 1944. He then continued his education at Buena Vista College and graduated in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree and “Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities” honors. On June 11, 1950 he was united in marriage to Joyce Elayne Hillman at the First Christian Church in Oelwein, Iowa. They were blessed with two children: Barbara Sue and Elizabeth Deanne. Over the years Dwayne had been very involved in many organizations. He served on his church board as president and treasurer. He was also on the Cemetery Board and taught Sunday school for twelve years. Dwayne was a Washington Township Trustee from 1966 to present, a member of the IOOF Lodge #221for sixty-five years serving as Past Noble Grand, Truesdale Farmers’ Club, an Advisory Board member for Iowa Central Community College and was on the Buena Vista County Care Review Committee. As well as being involved in a number activities and organizations, Dwayne enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them many things including how to play bridge. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce; children: Barbara Ault and Elizabeth Yahr; grandchildren: Richard (Rachel) Yahr, Christopher, Laura and Gregory Yahr, all of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Anthony Ault of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers: H. Dean (Marilyn) Stille of Wells, Minnesota; sisters-in-law: Levelle (Bob) Reichers, Rebecca Bayness, Florine Hillman and Judi Stille; brothers-in-law: Gary (Nancy) Hillman and Don (Bonnie) Schoentag, as well as many nieces and nephews. Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Loretta (Burkhardt); brother, Daryl Stille; nephews: Scott and Kevin Stille. |
