Clarence F. Richter

Clarence Frederick Richter, age 95, of Storm Lake, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 in his home.

Services for Mr. Richter will be held Monday, May 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Storm Lake Cemetery. The Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 18, 2008 from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present.

Clarence was born April 27, 1913 in Storm Lake, the son of Christ and Augusta (Grunewald) Richter.

On January 3, 1938, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Tyson in Albert City, Iowa. The couple was blessed with six children: Sharon, Linda, Steve, Jim, Jon and Tom.

Clarence enjoyed going for car rides, fishing and ballroom dancing. He liked to watch television, especially RFD -TV with Big Joe Polka and Market to Market. Clarence was a proud farmer, who especially took great pride in raising his hogs. More than anything, he loved and cherished his grandchildren and the time he spent with them. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Linda (David) Fassler of Storm Lake; Steve (Patti) Richter of Granger, Iowa; Jim Richter of Ogden, Iowa; Jon Richter and Tom Richter, both of Storm Lake; grandchildren: Doug Fassler of Storm Lake; Kris (Joe) Moon of Storm Lake; Lisa Fassler and fiancé, Bob Hass, of Rapid City, South Dakota; Scott Fassler of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; Charlotte Richter, Kaylee Richter, and Riley Richter, all of Granger, Iowa; Jayme Richter and fiancé, Mandy Demers, of Albert City, Iowa; Kari Richter of Spencer, Iowa; Kyle Richter and Brenna Richter, both of Storm Lake; and great-grandchildren: Dakota Richter, Kailee Richter, Takoda Krauel, Tyler Moon and Lexi Moon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christ and Augusta Richter; his brothers and sisters: Anna, August, Linda, Esther and Ed; his wife, Charlotte; his daughter, Sharon Fassler; and special friend, Lucille Lorenzen.
