Alura Lullman
Services for Mrs. Lullmann will be held on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Alura Mae Grewe was born May 3, 1930 in Des Plaines, Illinois to Fred and Bertha (Kruse) Grewe. She was baptized on June 29, 1930 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. In 1948, Alura graduated from Maine Township High School; from there she went onto college where she received her teaching degree. While teaching at Zion Parochial School from 1950-1952, she met her future husband, John Lullmann Jr. Alura went to teach in Patterson, New Jersey while John served in the Army. On August 21, 1955, Alura was united in marriage to John Diedrich Lullmann Jr. at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake. The couple was blessed with three children: John Stephen, Timothy Paul and Rebekah Noel. Alura remained affiliated with Zion Lutheran Church where she was involved in LWML and Ladies Aid. In addition she was involved in Questers. She enjoyed arranging flowers for the Clay County Fair, having an antique booth in Walnut, Iowa and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children: John Stephen Lullmann (fiancé Debra Gransow and her children, Max and Cassidy Gransow) of Storm Lake, Tim (Julie) Lullmann of Storm Lake and Rebekah (Steven) Christ of Storm Lake; grandchildren: Jeannie Marie Lullmann of West Des Moines, Iowa, John Daniel Lullmann of Storm Lake, Kyle Eugene Christ of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Nicole Diane Lullmann of West Des Moines, Tara Ann Lullmann of Storm Lake and Kayla Mae Christ of Storm Lake; great-grandchilren: Mackenzy Nicole Lullmann, Katience Jade Opal Lullmann and John Carter Lullmann; brother, Eugene Fred Grewe of Rockford, Illinois; niece: Ramsey (Jesse) Barlow of State College, Pennsylvania, sisters-in-law: Anna Hogrefe of Storm Lake, Tillie (Vic) Bartels of Storm Lake, Lea Kreutz of Holstein, Iowa, Norma (Arnie) Otto of Albert City, Iowa and Edna Rebhuhn of Albert City; extended family and many friends. Alura was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; sister, Annette Stade and sister-in-law, Hilda Hogrefe. |
