Virginia E. Baker

Virginia E. Baker, age 87, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, October 2, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Services for Mrs. Baker will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith United Assembly of God in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call on Friday, October 5, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00. 
   
Virginia was born July 11, 1920 at Pawnee City, Nebraska, the daughter of Alvin and Ruth (York) Cash.  She attended school in Pawnee City and graduated from Pawnee High School.  Virginia chose to go into nursing and graduated from Oak Forest Hospital School of Practical Nursing in Oak Forest, Illinois.
  
On August 23, 1935, Virginia was united in marriage to Wesley Baker in Nebraska. They were blessed with three children: Norma, Juanita and Richard.
  
Virginia was a loving wife and devoted mother who kept a warm and comfortable home for her family. She was a faithful member of Faith United Assembly of God in Storm Lake. She loved to sing and play the organ. She enjoyed playing bingo and liked a good game of cards. Most of all, Virginia loved her family and treasured the time she spent with them. Her quiet, caring ways will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
  
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Norma (Jimmy) Poindexter of Woodstock, Illinois; her daughter Jaunita Hartwig of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; her son Richard (Pearl) Baker of Onawa, Iowa; brother Wayne (Dorothy) Cash of Omaha, Nebraska; brother Paul (Eileen) Cash of Ames, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
   
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley; three infant children; and her brother, Sherman Cash.
