Tom Barr, age 58, of Renton, Washington and formerly of Newell, Iowa died April 28, 2007 in Renton.

Memorial services were held at Faull-Stokes Mortuary on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 12:00. A local memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Nain Lutheran Church in Newell with Pastor Barb Hansen officiating. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery with military honors. There will be no visitation.

Thomas Arthur Barr, born July 15, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Arthur and Gretchen Barr returned to his Heavenly Father on April 28, 2007 at the age of 58.
Tom is survived by his wife, Joyce Linda Barr; his son, Kurt Aaron and Kurt’s daughter, Savannah; his son, Thomas Jarad; his daughter, Tamara Ashley; his father, Arthur and stepmother, Agnes Barr.

Tom proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as a Chinese linguist. He was a strong and influential individual in the Fuel Field and Retail industries.

Tom enjoyed a variety of music. He enjoyed outdoor activities like camping, boating, barbequing and riding his motorcycle, of which he was a member of the GWRRA. He also spent many hours playing pool and darts and enjoying time with the many souls he touched with his humor and lightheartedness, which he kept until the end. He was a loving husband, father and hero to his children, and a great friend. He will truly be missed.
