Peters, age 89, of Badger, Iowa, died on April 11, 2007 at Friendship
Haven in Fort Dodge.
Funeral Services for Mr. Peters are scheduled for Monday, April 16, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, with Reverend Bruce Lesemann officiating. Burial will be in Storm Lake Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Those who wish to send online condolences to the family may do so via the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home website: www.fratzkejensen.com Oscar Fred John Peters was born May 19, 1917 in Alta, Iowa to John and Anna (Siegmund) Peters. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in rural Hanover. Oscar received his education through the eighth grade in a rural country school. On February 9, 1941, Oscar was united in marriage to Evelyn Catherine Boettcher in Storm Lake, Iowa by Rev. H.P. Schmidt. This union was blessed with two daughters: Diane Louise and Susan Kay. Oscar was active in the agricultural field and spent many years making his living as a farmer. In addition, he worked at the seed plant and elevator. In his later years, Oscar mowed for Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge He loved spending time with his family, and found much enjoyment traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada where his daughter lived. Oscar collected golf balls and baked delicious chocolate chip cookies. He always had a special stash of snickers candy bars available for his grandkids. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Susan Allen of Eagle Grove, Iowa; three grandchildren: Dawn Louise Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada, Melanie Lynn Anderson and Jennifer Louise Allen, both of Chariton; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Ella Dandy of Schaller, Iowa and Ruth Langner of Storm Lake; extended family and a host of friends. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn;
his daughter, Diane Davis; his four brothers: Chris, Henry, Carl
and Walter; and his five sisters: Dorothy Smith, Clara McConkey,
Betty Hartjes, Hildagarde Haxby and Magdalene Haxby. |
