Inez McDonough

Inez McDonough, age 91, of Boone, Iowa and formerly of Schaller and Sac City, Iowa, died Friday, November 9, 2007 in Boone.

Funeral Services for Mrs. McDonough will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Sac City. Pastor Matt Milligan will officiate. Burial will be in Cook Township Cemetery in rural Schaller. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home of Schaller is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call on Monday, November 12, 2007 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City, where the family will be present.

Inez M. Koch was born December 15, 1915 in Schaller, Iowa to John and Emma (Brammer) Koch. She attended country school and Odebolt High School. She was baptized and confirmed April 20, 1930 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller.

On March 3, 1937, Inez was united in marriage to Clyde McDonough at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple was blessed with five children: Karen, Richard, Dean, Tom and Dale.

Following her marriage, Inez joined the Presbyterian Church in Schaller and later became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sac City. She and Clyde lived on the farm near Schaller for many years and later they moved to Oak Terrace in Sac City.

Inez was a past Matron of the Eastern Star Organization as well as a member of Clover Club, Cook Merry Gardeners and the Schaller Women’s Club. She loved music as well as cooking for family and friends, which often centered around draft horse events.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Karen Grieme and husband Ron of Sioux City, Iowa; Dean McDonough and wife Mayrean of Marble Falls, Texas; Tom McDonough and wife Kay of Boone, Iowa; Dale McDonough and wife Jodie of Iowa Falls, Iowa; 13 grandchildren: Kathy Johnson and husband Kent of Akron, Iowa; Kevin Grieme and wife Brenda of Lawton, Iowa; Deb Ayers and husband Kelvin of Parker, Colorado; Cindy Struchen and husband Mike, and Marcia Bible and husband Gavin, all of Marble Falls, Texas; Carla Schnitz and husband Chad of Johnson City, Texas; Scot McDonough and wife Connie of Sac City, Iowa; Trent McDonough, Abby Morain and husband Rob, Ross McDonough and wife Amy, all of Boone, Iowa; Brett McDonough of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Mark McDonough of Des Moines, Iowa; and Ryan McDonough of Iowa Falls, Iowa; 26 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Helen and Bea Koch; extended family and many friends.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde; son, Richard McDonough; great-granddaughter, Kelli Johnson; four sisters and four brothers.
