Dorothy Grewell, age 93, of Grand Junction, Colorado and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, died May 2, 2007.

A memorial service was held Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Callahan Edfast Mortuary Chapel in Grand Junction with Reverend Karen Hurst and Pastor Roger Smith officiating. Local memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007 at Witter Chapel, United Methodist Church, in Storm Lake, with Reverend David Schumann officiating. Burial is in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Arrangements are under the direction of Fratzke and Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Dorothy was born July 20, 1913 in Davis City, Iowa to Phillip O. and Clara Alice (Thompson) Ebrecht. She spent her childhood in central Iowa and graduated from high school in Garwin, Iowa in 1931. Dorothy married Marion C. Grewell on October 22, 1933 in Garwin. Marion passed away in 1994. Throughout her life Dorothy lived in Iowa, Colorado and Arizona.

Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Storm Lake for 63 years. She was active in the Garden Club, Antique Questers and Sewing Club, all in Storm Lake.

Dorothy taught square dancing with Marion in northwest Iowa in the 1950’s. She loved to cook for and entertain her family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Clive J. Grewell of Grand Junction; her daughter, Alice M. Thompson of Grand Junction; her brother, Robert Ebrecht of Polk City, Iowa; sisters: Mardene Schultz of Grinnell, Iowa and Christine Wright of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren: Laurel, Jane, Gregory and Jodi; three great-grandchildren: Sara, Elija and Michael; extended family and many friends.
