Clyde was born March 21, 1928 to Jake and Winnie (Wimberly) Konradi in Ida Grove, Iowa. He was baptized as an infant in the Catholic faith and later confirmed his faith as a youth. He attended country school near Ida Grove through the 8th grade. On April 6, 1953, Clyde was united in marriage to Alice Erickson. Five children blessed this marriage: David, Lester, Linda, Bonnie and Daniel. Clyde worked in construction and moving buildings, an occupation that he enjoyed. He was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake and a member of the Moose Lodge in Storm Lake. He liked to fish, garden and go camping, and when he became a grandfather, he found great enjoyment in sharing these pastimes with his beloved grandchildren. Clyde had a special canine companion, his dog Teddy, who was a regular “member” of the family. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Lester (Sherry) Konradi of Apple Valley, California; Linda (Rick) Reckamp of Storm Lake; Bonnie Murray of Quitman, Mississippi; and Daniel (Kristina) Konradi of Storm Lake; his grandchildren: Jacob, Justin, Melissa, Chad, Tammy, John, Frankie, Richard, Jason, Brandi, Kyle, McKenzy, Karley and Cole; great-grandchildren: Austin, Dominique and Khyrstin; two sisters: Dorene Oehler of Storm Lake and Helen Ellis of Minneapolis, Minnesota; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice; his son, David; three brothers: Floyd, Earl and Bob; and two sisters: June Rice and Dorothy Mae Schoning. |
