Yvonne Hoberman, age 82, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Monday, August 7, 2006 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake with burial to follow at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Reverend Michael Harmon will officiate. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Yvonne Lois Hartman was born February 3, 1924 in Kimball, Minnesota to Henry and Minnie Hartman.  She was baptized as an infant at the Methodist Church in Kimball, and later confirmed in the same church. Yvonne received her education in Kimball, attending both grade and high school there before graduating from Kimball High School in 1942.

On March 11, 1947, Yvonne was united in marriage to Wilbert L. Hoberman at the Church of Christ in Storm Lake. They were blessed with a daughter, Barbara. Yvonne was a devoted wife and mother who took great care to see that she kept a warm and comfortable home for her family.  She enjoyed sewing, quilting and handwork. Yvonne loved flowers of all kinds, but she especially liked violets.

Beyond her family and home, Yvonne was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake, where she belonged to the Ladies Aid, was a past Secretary of Ladies Aid and a past Sunday School teacher. She also shared her time with her community, serving as a Meals on Wheels volunteer and was a member of the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Auxilliary for 25 years.

In her later years, Yvonne’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were special treasures within the family she loved. Her gentle caring presence will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Wilbert of Storm Lake; her daughter, Barbara and husband Lee Huebner of Hutchinson, Minnesota; granddaughter Kelly and husband Jon Burkart of Apple Valley, Minnesota; granddaughter Kimberly Huebner of Maplewood, Minnesota; grandson Michael Huebner of Lincoln, Nebraska; great-grandchildren Ryan and Owen Burkart of Apple Valley, Minnesota; four nieces, two nephews; extended family and friends.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
