Mrs. Selma Irene “Sally” Zalesky, age 83, of Columbia, South Carolina and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa died Saturday, March 4, 2006.

Local graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2006 at the Storm Lake Cemetery with assistance from the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Services for Mrs. Zalesky, wife of the late Charles Joseph Zalesky, were held Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Windsor Lake United Methodist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charles Zalesky memorial Scholarship Fund, Buena Vista University, Storm Lake, Iowa 50588.

Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Mrs. Zalesky was the daughter of the late Louis and Sarah Hovland Groning. She was a member of Eastern Star, Faculty Dames of Buena Vista University, PEO, and was the events coordinator for the Storm Lake Arts Council. She was a member of the Windsor Lake United Methodist Church.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Robert J. O’Brien of Columbia, South Carolina and Jackie and Gary Giese of Maryville, Tennessee; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
