Sharon Fassler, age 67, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center in Newell, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, with Reverend Jamie Cutler officiating. Burial will be in the Aurelia’s Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The arrangements are under the direction of the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Friends may call on Thursday, August 3, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present from 6:00 to 8:00.

Sharon Ann Richter was born January 22, 1939 in Storm Lake to Clarence and Charlotte (Tyson) Richter. She was baptized into the Christian faith on April 2, 1939 at the Storm Lake United Methodist Church and has been a life-long, faithful member of that congregation. Sharon received her education in the Truesdale school, graduating from Truesdale High School with the Class of 1957.

On January 30, 1970, Sharon and Melvin Fassler were married in the Witter Chapel of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Lisa, and a son, Scott.

Sharon was a natural caretaker and she loved caring for her family, baking and cooking and keeping a warm and comfortable home for them. Friends were always welcome in the Fassler home—Sharon was an outgoing person and enjoyed visiting with people from all walks of life. She loved children and enjoyed attending dances. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Sharon’s caring presence will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her father, Clarence Richter of Storm Lake; daughter Lisa Fassler of Flagstaff, Arizona; son Scott Fassler of Linn Grove, Iowa; stepchildren: Duane (Karin) Fassler of Hosbach, Germany; Debbie (Mike) Borgstrom of Smyrna, Tennessee; Del (Denita) Fassler of Peterson, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Linda (David) Fassler of Storm Lake; brother Steve (Patti) Richter of Granger, Iowa; brother Jim Richter of Newell, Iowa; brothers Jon Richter and Tom (Caroline) Richter, both of Storm Lake; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Sharon in death were her mother, Charlotte Richter; and her husband, Melvin Fassler.
