Ron was born January 25, 1949 in Carroll, Iowa to Julian and Cecelia (Lampe) Wadle.  He grew up in the Fonda area and received his education in Fonda.  Ron entered service to his country in the United States Army in March of 1969 and served through February 1971, receiving several medals and commendations prior to his honorable discharge from active service:  the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster, Parachute Badge, Overseas Bar and Sharp Shooter Bar.

On September 22, 1973, Ron was united in marriage to Fay A. Hatteberg in Fonda. They were blessed with three children: Jacki, Dennis and Gene. Ron was a farmer who loved his life working the land. He took special pleasure from raising calves born in his own cow/calf herd. Ron was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather—a quiet man whose family meant everything to him.  His gentle presence will be missed dearly by his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Fay of Fonda; daughter Jacki and husband Brett Backhaus of Kensett, Iowa; son Dennis and wife Shelbe Wadle of Fonda; son Gene Wadle of Fonda; and granddaughter Marli Backhaus of Kensett. Two more grandchildren are expected to arrive this coming autumn. Ron is further survived by his mother, Cecelia Wadle of Fonda; his brother, Rick Wadle of Fonda; sister Sherry Loughran of Carroll, Iowa; extended family and many friends.
