Morris R. Langner
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M., on Thursday, August 3, 2006, at the Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad, where the family will be present to greet friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, August 6, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, Iowa with burial to follow in the Storm Lake Cemetery. Friends may call for visitation from 4 to 8 P.M. Saturday at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 P.M. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. In lieu of flowers, Katrina and his children request memorials be directed in Morris’s name to Iowa River Hospice or the Hope Lodge in Rochester, Minnesota. Morris Ronald Langner was born on October 24, 1960 in Storm Lake, the son of Gladwyn and Helen (Sheffield) Langner. He was raised and educated in Schaller, Iowa, graduating from the Schaller High School in 1979. He continued his education at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where he graduated from the carpentry program. He was employed as Superintendent with the Regency Commercial Services in Des Moines, and enjoyed family and barbeque. He also owned and operated Big Moe’s BBQ, competing in various BBQ contests. Morris is survived by his parents: Gladwyn & Helen Langner of Storm Lake; Katrina Blake of Conrad; son Jeremy (Becky) Langner of Waterloo, Iowa; daughter Sara (Cory) Glover of Carlisle, Iowa; son Tim Langner of Early, Iowa; four brothers: Mike (Diane) Langner of Ankeny, Iowa; Mark (Deborah) Langner of Storm Lake, Iowa; Merle (Barb) Langner of Gowrie, Iowa; and Marshall (Jane) Langner of Storm Lake; sister Mary Jo Langner of Rock Valley; and two grandchildren: Mykenzie & Landon Glover of Carlisle. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and a nephew. |
