Lloyd Wise

Lloyd Wise, age 89, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.

Memorial Services for Mr. Wise will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake.  The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held for one hour at the church prior to the service.

Lloyd W. Wise was born September 22, 1917 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of George F. and Grace (Snyder) Wise. He was baptized into the Christian faith as an infant at the Presbyterian Church in Sulphur Springs; he later confirmed his faith at the same church.  Lloyd received his education in the Sulphur Springs school, graduating from Sulphur Springs High School with the Class of 1935.

On March 10, 1941, Lloyd was united in marriage to Katherine Keller at the University Church of Christ in Des Moines, Iowa. Lloyd was a farmer for many years and also worked in the maintenance department of Buena Vista County for 15 years. He retired in April 1983.

Lloyd was a member of the Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake, where he served as a deacon and usher, a member of the Elks Lodge in Storm Lake and Kiwanis Golden K service organization. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and playing cards. Lloyd will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, a beloved brother and a valued friend.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Katherine Wise of Storm Lake; a sister, Edna Jensen of Tyler, Minnesota; sister-in-law Rose Wise of Los Angeles, California; extended family and many friends.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lynn and Russell; and one sister, Mary Watts.
