Lois Hess, age 92, of Council Bluffs, Iowa and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 20, 2006 at Amelia House in Council Bluffs.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Hess are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2006 at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m.

Lois and her husband, Roy, were long-time residents of Storm Lake. They farmed Northeast of Storm Lake until their retirement. During her lifetime, Lois was a rural school teacher in Schaller, Iowa , a piano teacher, and a homemaker. She was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake.  After retirement, the couple moved to Athens, Georgia.  

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Roy; an infant daughter, Sharon Kay; a grandson, Brian Decker; and thirteen brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her sons: Ronald Hess, Vancouver, Washington; Roger Hess, Vancouver, Washington; Randall Hess, Baltimore, Maryland;  her daughters: Donna Decker, Athens, Georgia; Mavis Hauser, Council Bluffs, Iowa; 18 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
