Kenneth R. Stern, age 66, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Buena Vista Manor in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake.  Burial will be at a later date in the Free Lutheran Church Cemetery at Sunberg, Minnesota.  The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home of Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where family will be present to greet friends.

Kenny was born on September 27, 1939, in rural Storm Lake, Iowa to Emil and Rose Louise (Grieme) Stern. He attended Zion Parochial School through the eighth grade.  He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake in 1939 and later confirmed on June 27, 1954 at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clark, South Dakota. He was currently a member of the Free Lutheran Church in Sunberg, Minnesota.

On June 20, 1967, Kenny was united in marriage to Elva C. Johnson in Pope, Minnesota.  They lived in Brooten, Minnesota and later retired to Storm Lake in 1991.  He enjoyed the many years he spent as a hired hand.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Merlyn Stern and his wife Bernice of Storm Lake, and sister Carol Kruse and her husband Donald of Rembrandt, Iowa; and other extended family and friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Rose Stern; his wife, Elva; and his brother Verle Stern.
