Kevin Iehl

Kevin Iehl, age 50, of Rembrandt, Iowa died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2006 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Rembrandt. Burial will be in the Little Sioux Valley Cemetery in Rembrandt. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Kevin’s family will be present from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2006 to receive friends at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Kevin was born December 8, 1955 to Everett and Barbara (Irwin) Iehl in Storm Lake. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Kevin graduated from Albert City -Truesdale High School with the Class of 1975. He continued his education at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, Iowa for another year.

On August 20, 1977, Kevin was united in marriage to Jeanne Hale at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rembrandt. They were blessed with a daughter, Jill, and two sons, Brian and Casey.

Kevin was very involved in the community in which he lived and raised his family. He served as a former mayor and council member of the city of Rembrandt, was a volunteer member of the Rembrandt Fire Department for 13 years, and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Storm Lake. He enjoyed the outdoors and sports, especially bowling, golf, boating, camping. He was an avid NASCAR fan and liked to hunt. He was a member of the Ridge Runners Hunting Club. Kevin was employed by Storm Lake Hydraulics as their parts person.

Kevin’s family was always his first priority, however. A loving husband and devoted father, Kevin treasured every moment he spent with Jeanne and his kids. His caring presence will be dearly missed by his family and friends every day.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanne, of Rembrandt; daughter Jill (Justin) Henningsen of Ruthven, Iowa; sons Brian Iehl (Shayla Degner) of Rembrandt; and Casey Iehl (Stephanie Thompson) of Rembrandt; father Everett (Jo) Iehl of Fremont, Nebraska; sister Kathryn (Paul) Sefcik of Ottosen, Iowa; father and mother-in-law Raymond and Wilma Hale of Rembrandt; sister-in-law Teresa (Junior) Lammers of Rembrandt; brother-in-law Michael (Elaine) Hale of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; sister-in-law Lisa (Everett) Huffer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister-in-law Kim (Eddie) Farris of Rembrandt; sister-in-law Angie Hale (Charlie Grienke) of Linn Grove, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and a host of friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Iehl, on March 13, 2006.
