Karolyn Halverson, age 58, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Halverson are scheduled for Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Storm Lake United Methodist Church, with Reverend Jamie Cutler officiating.  Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake.  The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present from 6-8:00 p.m.

Karolyn Kristen Nehring was born September 19, 1948 at Storm Lake, Iowa to Wendolin and Evelyn (Sievers) Nehring. She received her education in the Albert City school system.

On October 2, 1971, Karolyn was united in marriage to Wayne Halverson. The couple was blessed with four children: Brent, Shelly, Brian and Troy.

Karolyn was a loving wife and devoted mother whose family always came first in her life. As grandchildren came along, she found them to be a new light in her life. Any time she could spend with her family was precious to Karolyn. She was a race fan and enjoyed attending races whenever she could. Karolyn also loved to travel and see new and interesting places.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Wayne, of Storm Lake. He and Karolyn would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on October 2nd this year. She is further survived by her son Brent (Lori) Halverson of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; her daughter Shelly (Bill Chapman) Woodard of Storm Lake; son Brian Halverson of Overland Park, Kansas; son Troy (Cinda) Halverson of Spencer, Iowa; her beloved grandchildren: Austin, Emily, Jessica, Nick, Matt, Amber, Courtney, Paige, Alex, Calvin and Allie; her precious great-grandchild, Dominik; brother Richard (Rosalie) Nehring of Des Moines, Iowa; brother Bob (Sara) Nehring of Atlantic, Iowa; brother Gailyn (Billie) Nehring of Alta, Iowa; brother Mark (Lori) Nehring of Alta, Iowa; sister Shirley (Gary) Williams of Manson, Iowa; sister Cindy (Rick) Hatch of Early, Iowa; sister Shari McCaulley of Manson, Iowa; extended family and a host of friends.

Karolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Garland Nehring; her father- and mother-in-law, Arthur and Helen Halverson; her brother-in-law, John McCaulley and her sister-in-law Diane Nehring.
