Josephine was born on November 30, 1905 to Frank and Mary Roeder.  She was baptized at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Schaller, where she was a life-long member.  The family resided at the Roeder family farm on Highway 20.  She attended Sacred Heart School in Early until 8th grade, when she returned home to care for her father.

She was united in marriage to Anslem Naberhaus on February 7, 1939.  The couple resided in the Galva and Schaller area until they moved to the Roeder family farm in 1943, where they raised their three boys, George, Richard and Edmund.  Anslem passed away in 1959, leaving Josephine to raise their three sons.  In addition to taking care of the boys and their home, she found time to be an active member of the Catholic Daughters, the Rosary Society, and she recently became a member of the Red Hat Club.

Her parents; her husband, Anslem; and her two brothers, Laurence and Herman Roeder, preceded Josephine in death.

She is survived by her sons, George and Catherine (Kotz) Naberhaus, Richard and Nancy (Sampers) Naberhaus, Edmund and Susan (Madsen) Naberhaus; her grandchildren, Marcia Naberhaus, Mary Jo Naberhaus, Ann and Tom Murphy, Connie and James Mason, Melissa Naberhaus, Scott and Brenda Naberhaus, Lee and Sally Naberhaus, Heath and Sue Naberhaus, Matt and Sarah Naberhaus, Annette and Jeff Goza, Brenda and Pat Zimmer, and Judy and Curt Roling; 20 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law Dula Bosald; and numerous nieces and nephews.
