Corinne Louise Hanke was born April 7, 1929 in Lake View, Iowa to Alfred and Florence (Lange) Hanke. She graduated from Early High School with the Class of 1947.

On June 4, 1950, Corinne was united in marriage to John Stanley Covey at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. They were blessed with three sons: Randall, David and James. The couple made their home in Worthington, MN, where Corinne treasured and cared for her family as they grew.

She was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Storm Lake and the Ladies Aid group there, as well as PEO, Questors, and Buena Vista Historical Society. Corinne had many varied interests: she learned to fly a plane and got her private pilots license in 1967, she enjoyed painting with oil and water colors and liked to take art classes at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. She also enjoyed quilting. Her family, however, was her first love and she treasured every moment she was able to spend with her husband, children and grandchildren. Corinne and John Stanley lived in Texas, Colorado and Kansas and moved to Storm Lake upon retirement.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, John Stanley Covey of Storm Lake; son Randall J. Covey and his wife, Judy of Ames, IA; son David A. Covey and his wife, Janet of Lincoln, NE, son James S. Covey and his wife, Mary of Early, IA; three grandchildren: Jerad Covey, Amber Covey and Megan Covey; two step-grandsons, Donald Snyder and Dennis Snyder; five step-great-grandchildren: Shelby, Sydney, Randy, Travis and Barbara Ann Snyder; brother Neil Hanke of Early, IA; sister Jean Ann Hemer of Kansas City, MO; extended family and many friends.

Corinne was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Florence Hanke.
