Marcia K. Jones

Marcia K. Jones, age 46, of Peterson, Iowa died at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa on Friday, June 24, 2005 as the result of an automobile accident in Buena Vista County, Iowa.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 1:30 pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, Iowa, with Reverend Connie Spitzack officiating. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery at Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call anytime after 4:00 pm on Tuesday at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where family will greet friends from 6-8:00 pm.

Marcia was born May 19, 1959 in Des Moines, Iowa to Paul N. and Cora La Verne (Anderson) Jones. She was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa and later confirmed at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. She grew up in her parents’ home, attending grade school first in Alta, Iowa and then the Storm Lake school system before graduating from Storm Lake High School with the Class of 1977. Marcia then furthered her education at Iowa Central Community College, Storm Lake campus. Marcia worked as a nursing assistant at the Spencer Hospital and was also assistant manager at Boz-Wells Pub & Eatery in Ida Grove, Iowa.

Marcia was an outgoing person who loved people and enjoyed spending time with family and dear friends, as well as making new friends. She liked being outdoors to enjoy nature, and was an avid gardener. Marcia loved to cook and share the dishes she created with others, liked antiques and enjoyed reading. Her first priority, however, was always her family. She will be missed daily by all whose lives she touched.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Nathan Paul Smith, Verity Shay Jones and Kirstyn Doré Jones, all of Peterson, Iowa; one granddaughter, Emily Jade Smith; her parents, Paul and La Verne Jones of Storm Lake; as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.

Marcia was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Elmer and Cora Anderson, and her paternal grandparents, Berthal and Ethel Jones.
