Karen K. Friedlund

Karen K. Friedlund of Storm Lake, Iowa died at her home on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the age of 61 years and nine months.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, May 16, 2005 at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be 2:00 P.M. in Barnes Township Cemetery in Linn Grove, Iowa under the direction of the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Friends may call Sunday May 15, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Karen was born August 3, 1943 to Dar and Marian Friedlund in Buena Vista County, Iowa. She lived with her family in Aurelia and attended grade school there before moving to Storm Lake, where she graduated from Storm Lake High School with the Class of 1962.

Karen made her home in Storm Lake and was employed as a Dietary Assistant at Buena Vista Manor for 30 years. She was a faithful member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake.

Karen loved life and treasured her family and the time she spent with them. Her cat, Sparky, was a loyal companion and Karen spent many happy hours spoiling Sparky. Karen also enjoyed visiting with her many friends, working on her picture albums and watching television and movies.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Dan and wife Ramona Friedlund of Omaha, Nebraska; her nieces, Stacy and husband John Christie of Atlanta, Georgia, and Sarah Friedlund of Chicago, Illinois; her nephew, Chris Edwards of Omaha, Nebraska; her great-nephews and niece, Jack, Kate and Will Christie; close family friend, Velma Peterson; and many other relatives and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Dar and Marian Friedlund.
