Elmer Jacobson
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2005 from 6-8 at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller. Burial will be in the Schaller Cemetery. Elmer Jacob Jacobson was born January 12, 1916 to Augusta and Eli Jacobson on a farm near Schaller, Iowa. As a boy, he lived on the family farm east of Schaller. He attended country grade school, Eden #9, and also Early High School. On September 10, 1946 Elmer was united in marriage to Lois Arlene Fifield in Correctionville, Iowa. Since January 1, 1947, Lois and Elmer shared their life together on a farm south of Schaller. To this union two sons were born, Ronald and Randy. Elmer was involved in farming since a young boy. He owned and operated a grinder and served Schaller, Galva and Holstein. He sold seed corn for Hulting Hybrid, Renk and Ramy seed companies as a District Manager, traveling western Iowa and eastern Nebraska. Elmer’s hobbies were fishing, hunting and his purebred Angus cattle. In his later years, he enjoyed visiting with his friends and eating out. He also was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Schaller. Survivors include his sons: Ronald and wife Sue of Schaller, and Randy and wife Cindy of Storm Lake; grandchildren: Troy Jacobson and wife Joane of Schaller, Travis Jacobson and wife Shelly of Alta, Tammy Strenge and husband Dick of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin and Florida, Mindy Stoltzfus and husband Jason of Storm Lake, and Brandon Jacobson; great-grandchildren Morgan and Mallorie of Alta, and Xander and Zack of Storm Lake; brother William Jacobson of Duncomb, Iowa; and a host of other family and friends. Preceding Elmer in death were his parents, his sister Marie Kolbe, and wife Lois. |
