Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Schaller, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Friends may call from 4-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. where family will greet friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Amy Louise Swanson was born July 1, 1967 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Jansen) Brenner. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Schaller, Iowa. While living with her family in Schaller, Amy attended and graduated in 1985 from Schaller High School. She furthered her education in child care at Biloxi, Mississippi and Fairfax, Virginia. On June 26, 1986, Amy was united in marriage to Mike Swanson in Schaller, Iowa at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. They were blessed with two children: Shane and Zoe. She worked as a teacher’s assistant and preschool teacher in the Fairfax County School District. Her passion involved taking care of children. But most of all, Amy loved her family and friends, and treasured the time she spent with them. She currently was a member of Fort Belvoir Catholic Church in Springfield, Virginia. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mike Swanson from Springfield, Virginia; her children, Shane and Zoe of Springfield, Virginia; her mother, Mary Brenner of Schaller, Iowa; brothers: Bill Brenner of Schaller, Iowa, Roger Brenner of Schaller, Iowa, Raymond Brenner of Schaller, Iowa, and Ed Brenner of Alta; sisters: Diane Stevenson of Sioux City, Joanne Carlson of Alta, and Kathy Breucklander of Forest City; father- and mother-in-law, Richard and Karen Swanson of Estherville, Iowa; as well as many other relatives, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Amy was preceded in death by her father, Joe in 1998. |
