Alma E. Heschke
Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Storm Lake United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 2, 2005 from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake, where the family will be present to greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Alma Elizabeth Taylor was born February 18, 1920, in Lincoln Township, Buena Vista County, Iowa to Joseph Ferman and Harriet Elizabeth (Jordan) Taylor. She grew up on the family farm in the Lincoln Lee township area, where she graduated from Lincoln Lee High School and attended Buena Vista College for 2 years. On May 24, 1944, Alma was united in marriage to John Delmar Heschke in the Storm Lake Methodist parsonage. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake. Alma was a faithful member of the UMW in Truesdale and taught Sunday School. She also taught school for four years at Coon township and six years at Truesdale. Alma enjoyed crocheting and cooking, as well as helping with farm work. She lovingly made 45 afghans and pieced and quilted 6 quilts over the years. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John Heschke of Storm Lake; her brother, Frank Taylor and wife Wilma of Storm Lake; her brothers-in-law Kenneth Heschke of Pella, Iowa and Darrel Heschke of Cherokee; sister-in-law Phyllis Frances of Storm Lake; many nieces and nephews; as well as other extended family members and friends. Preceding Alma in death are her parents, Joseph and Harriet; two sisters: Arwilla and Pearl; and one brother, Ferman. |
