Wilbur “Bud” Henrich
Visitation in Thursday, January 8, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wilbur “Bud” Henrich, age 85, of Newell, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2004, Buena Vista Regional Hospital in Storm Lake. Wilbur Henrich was born on April 2, 1918, to Charles and Emma (Paeper) Henrich on the family farm in Sac County. He attended country school and was baptized in the Galbraith Methodist Church south of Newell. He started farming at a young age with the help of his older brothers. Wilbur was united in marriage to Evelyn Darling on April 3, 1937, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. To this union was born a son, Dennis, and a daughter, Coleen. Wilbur and Evelyn farmed for 45 years before retiring and moving to their present home in Newell. Bowling, playing cards, golfing and taking bus tours were some of the activities Wilbur enjoyed. He held several offices in the Newell United Methodist Church and also served on the Newell School Board. Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers: Carl, Ernest, Milton, Glen, Elwood, and William, Sr.; and one sister Gusta Myers. He is survived by his wife Evelyn; his son Dennis Henrich and his wife Donna of Cherokee, IA, and daughter Coleen Baughman and her husband Arvid of Newell, Iowa; and one sister Emma Saddoris of Newell. Five grandchildren mourn his passing: Jennifer Henrich of Des Moines, Amy (Tim) Hynds of Sioux City, IA, Dr. Kristin Baughman of Kent, OH, Dean (Dawn) Baughman of Newell, Shannon (Sandy) Baughman of Atlantic, IA, and eight great grandchildren; extended family; and many friends. |
