Verlene M. Walker

Verlene “Terry” Walker died on Sunday, January 4th, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Schaller, with Reverend Carol Gailey officiating. Burial will be in the Holstein Cemetery. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 6, 2005, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller.

Terry was born on May 12, 1931, at Holstein, Iowa, to Clifford and Ella (Schade) Terry. She was baptized in the Methodist faith in Holstein. As a child, Terry lived with her parents and attended grade school and high school in Holstein.

Terry was retired, but she kept busy baking homemade bread and her excellent Pride of Iowa cookies to share with her many visitors. She was a people person, and liked to keep in touch with her friends and family at morning coffee time. She also enjoyed her frequent telephone conversations.

Terry liked playing Bingo, card games and cribbage. Her constant companion was her beloved dog, Bridgett, who Terry delighted in spoiling.

Left to cherish Terry’s memory are a brother-in-law, Don Schmidt of Schaller; two sisters-in-law: Marian Johnson and Jan Terry, both of Holstein; and her many family members and friends.

Preceding Terry in death were her parents; four brothers: Floren, Willis and LaVerne Johnson and Clifford Terry; and one sister, Lorene Schmidt.
