Tim Dewane Anderson was born on October 4, 1952 to Darrell D. “Andy” and Marguerite D. (Martin) Anderson in Sac City, Iowa. He grew up with his parents in Schaller, attending school there. Tim graduated from Schaller High School with the class of 1971. Many of his classmates remained his life-long friends. He enjoyed football, wrestling and played drums in the high school band. Tim enlisted in the Army in December of 1971 where he was an MP Spec. 4.

Upon discharge from the Army in December of 1973, Tim returned to Schaller to work for a variety of employers including Andy’s Café, the Town of Schaller, Christianson Company, the Hideout and Sidelines. In July of 1987, Tim was hired by the American Popcorn Company in Schaller as a mill operator. His versatility and knack for “fixing things and tinkering” led to his transfer to the Sioux City plant where he worked a variety of jobs. Eventually, he was assigned the position of Lead Outside Maintenance. His talents made him a natural for this position and he became a very valued and dependable employee in this capacity.

Tim married Linda Steen of Schaller in December of 1986. They had two children, Mallory and Matthew, who became a major focus of his life. Tim divorced in 2000 and later, Geri Cooperman became his close friend and companion.

Tim was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Schaller.

Tim enjoyed life and his family. He was especially fond of fishing, bowling, reading, hunting, camping and grilling. He was a Sci-fi enthusiast, especially enjoying the “Lord of the Rings.” Tim was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Iowa Hawkeyes fan as well as a trash/treasure collector for which he earned the nickname of “Macklin.” Special memories of Tim’s life were the times he spent gathering asparagus along the back roads to and from work, his love of liver and onions, his love of the Steelers, even when they were loosing, his “temper” whe he lost at games, his sense of humor and love of a practical joke. During his time working for the town, he picked up the additional nickname of “Turkey,” one he enjoyed a lot and passed on to others.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Marguerite of Schaller; children: Matthew Glen Anderson and Mallory Lynn Anderson, both of Schaller; step-son, Kenne A. Steen Jr. of Schaller; sisters: Rita Anderson Brown her husband John, and family of Kenyon, Minnesota, and Candace Anderson Dixon and sons of Hutchinson, Kansas; two step-grandchildren, Brittney and Steven Larson of Cedar Rapids; and many extended family members and friends.

Preceding Tim in death were his father, Darrell D. Anderson and step-daughter, Dawn L. Larson.
