Ruth Love

Ruth Love, age 84, of Newell, Iowa passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at the Newell Good Samaritan Center in Newell, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Newell. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens in Boone, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home of Newell is in charge of the arrangements.

Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday, August 16, 2004 at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell where the family will greet friends.

Ruth Brunton was born February 8, 1920 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of John and Lena (Dorman) Brunton. She attended Boone Schools and graduated in 1938. She received her diploma from Des Moines Area Community College in 1977 with Correspondence Secretary. She was a Warrant Officer in the Boone Wing Civil Air Patrol in the early 1940’s.

On July 10, 1945 Ruth was united in marriage to James Love. To this union, four children were born: James L. Love, Pamela Eaves, Phyllis Smith, and John R. Love. She also raised her granddaughter, Paula Love DeMey.

Ruth liked crocheting and embroidering, and also embroidering by painting.

Surviving Ruth are her children: James L. Love, Pamela Eaves, Phyllis Smith all of Pilot Mound, John R. Love of Payton; granddaughter, Paula and grandson-in-law Keith DeMey of Newell; great granddaughter Brittany Love; sister, Estella Henry of Fair Oaks, California; and a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of other extended family members and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Robert and John Jr., and one sister Lois Phipps.
