William Robert Dennis II William “Bill” Robert Dennis II, age 54, of Newell, Iowa died suddenly at his home on Thursday, March 13, 2003. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 20, 2003 at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell, Iowa with Pastor Jamie Cutler officiating. Burial will be at a later date. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home of Newell. There will be no visitation. William “Bill” Robert Dennis II was born October 22, 1948 the son of Roberta Melvin. They moved to Los Angeles, California when Bill was six years old. The family resided in the southern California area where he attended grade school and graduated. While in school, Bill belonged to the high school diving team. Bill worked for General Motors for years, until he retired in 1976. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and tennis. He was a member of the U.S. Army Infantry Division and served in the Vietnam War. Bill received an honorable discharge from the service. Bill is survived by his mother, Roberta Melvin; children: Bryan Dennis and wife Pamela of Sgt. Bluff, Iowa, Darren Dennis and wife Cheryl of Spencer, Shawnette Cardenas and husband Frank of Orangeville, California, and Jerry Lawler and wife Ronda of Citrus Heights, California; brother, Terry Melvin and wife Cindy of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters: Trish Galloway of Reno, Nevada, and Pegan Pommerville and husband Barry of Newell; grandchildren: Sara and Karina; and other extended family and friends. |
