Leola M. Henrich
Leola M. Henrich, age 90, of Newell, Iowa, passed away on Friday,
October 17, 2003, at the Newell Good Samaritan Center in Newell. Leola
M. Freeman was born on July 23, 1913, in Sac City, the daughter of
Roy Dale and Veda Maude (Davis) Freeman. She attended country school
and lived on a farm near Sac City until her marriage. On December
10, 1931, Leola was united in marriage to William H. Henrich, Sr.,
in Sac City.
Leola devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker,
helping on the farm and taking care of her children. She enjoyed sports
and followed all of Newell's sporting events. She especially enjoyed
watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren's activities.
She liked to crochet special gifts for her family.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Newell and a member
of the U.M.W. and the Newell Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving Leola are her three sons: Charles Henrich and his wife Mary
Lou of West Des Moines, IA, Marvin Henrich and his wife Joan of Indian
Lake, FL, William H. Henrich, Jr. and his wife Shirley of Newell;
nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons;
several step grandchildren; brother DeVon Freeman and his wife Frances
of Sac City, IA; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Freeman of Fonda, IA
and Gwen Freeman Gibbons of Sac City, IA; nieces, nephews, extended
family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William H. Henrich,
Sr.; her three brothers: Wayne, Gaylord, and George: and two sisters:
Glenadeen Anderson and Ardyth Henrich.

Service for Leola M. Henrich is Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at the
United Methodist Church, Newell, Iowa, at 10:30 am, with Rev. Scott
G. Holmes officiating. Music will be provided by Brian Cessford, soloist,
and Coleen Baughman,organist. Flowers will be taken care of by Linda
Stauber, Carol Johnson, and Brenda Schwarz. Pallbearers include: Steven
Henrich, Stanley Henrich, Howard Henrich, Seth Henrich, Heath Henrich,
Monica Koellen, Lisa Henrich, and LeAnn Millar. Burial will be at
the Newell Cemetery. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Homes, Newell, Iowa,
is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Tuesday, October 21, 2003, 4-8:00 pm with the family
present from 6-8:00 pm, at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell.
