Houmphanh Phosy was born on March 2, 1932 in Xayabory, Laos. During his stay in Laos, he had a difficult childhood, as he was an orphan. However, Mr. Phosy was not distracted by those obstacles from pursuing his dreams.

At the age of 18, he served in the army, and also in the Vietnam War, helping the Americans. In 1959, he was married to Pat Phosy and they had five children together. Because of aiding the Americans, he and his family had a legal right to come to the U. S. and became a U.S. citizen. This was where he started his new life.

On September 11, 1987 he and his family moved to the U. S. A. Living in the United States without knowing English did not discourage him from making the best for his family. He was a wonderful husband and father. The hard work paid off, he was retired in 2002. On June 3, 2003, he became very ill from cancer and finally rests in peace on July 31, 2003 at 1:50 p.m.

Mr. Phosy is survived by his wife and his five children.
