Clarence L. Ploeger Clarence Lorence Ploeger, 94, of Storm Lake formerly of Schaller, Iowa passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at the Buena Vista Manor. Services will be on Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at 11:00 am at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, rural Schaller. Pastor H.W. Huddleston will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller, Iowa. Clarence was born May 14, 1909 to Frederick and Hermina (Sievert) Ploeger on a farm in rural Alta, Iowa. He was the youngest of 11 children. He attended country school through the 8th grade. Then he began farming, which he did his entire life. On February 5, 1936 he married Zoa Mudge in Alta, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Lorence and Elaine. They retired and moved to Schaller in 1975. Zoa passed away February 14, 1982. Clarence was a life long member of the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ rural Schaller. He is survived by one son, Lorence Ploeger and wife Dorothy of Storm Lake, Iowa, one daughter, Elaine Johannsen and husband Loren of Paullina, Iowa; six grandchildren, Marie Bruns (Dale) of Galva, Patty Wilhelm (Dave) of Schaller, Lori McGuire (Tim) of Holstein, Randy Johannsen (Ange) of Paullina, Kari Bauer (Scott) of Paullina, Tami Johannsen of Paullina; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Leota Ploeger of Schaller, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zoa; his parents; one grandson, Jimmy Ploeger; three sisters, Minnie Langer, Freda Langer, Ella Franken; seven brothers, Fredrick, Henry, William, Art, Ralph, Edward, and Herman. |
