| Donald Brisbois, age 84, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Donald Wayne Brisbois, age 84, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. Donald Wayne Brisbois was born October 4, 1925 in rural Alta, Iowa, the son of George Henry and Iva Mae (Schroll) Brisbois. He was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Alta in 1936. Donald attended the Alta Community School where he graduated in 1945. In 1943, during his senior year of high school, Donald was drafted into the United States Army where he served in the Medical Corp in the European section for three years helping to liberate Dachau Concentration Camps. He served in World War II during the European Theater until he was honorably discharged in 1946. On November 30, 1951, Donald was united in marriage to Maxine Ashba in Storm Lake where he was engaged in farming. To this union was blessed with five children: Connie, Randy, Mike, Kristi and Robert. Donald was a member of the United Methodist Church in Storm Lake, VFW of Alta, Iowa, the Elks Lodge and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially to Europe, Jamaica and Hawaii. Donald treasured his family and will be deeply missed by all. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Maxine May Brisbois of Storm Lake, Iowa; his children: Randy Brisbois; Mike Brisbois; Kristi Gaffey and fiancé, Dale Hahn; Robert Brisbois; grandchildren: Nicole (Bob) Nichols; Justin (Jordan) Gaffey; Tom Brisbois and fiancé, Jess; Jordan Brisbois and special friend, Rachel; great grandchildren: Hailey and AJ Gaffey; Kali and Kinlei Nichols; sister, Marge Pender of Alta, Iowa; sister-in-law, Margaret Henning; extended family and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, George and Iva; daughter, Connie; two brothers, James and Henry; and two sisters, Bernice and Betty.
