William "Bill" Landgraf, age 78, of Storm Lake, Iowa died January 27, 2010 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Bill was born on August 17, 1931 in rural Early Sac County, Iowa, to William Sr. and Emily (Hausman) Landgraf. He attended school at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Early and graduated in 1949 from Sacred Heart Catholic High School.

In March of 1951, Bill enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country until he was honorably discharged in March of 1955.

On June 30, 1956, Bill was united in marriage to Kathleen Ann Otto of Mount Carmel, Iowa. To this union three sons were born: Terry, Todd and Brad.

Bill worked for a farm machinery company during the first 15 years of their marriage. In June of 1971, Bill and his wife, Kathleen purchased the Palace Motel in Storm Lake, Iowa. After owning and operating the motel for 28 years, they sold the business in August of 1999 and retired in Henderson, Nevada before returning to Iowa in 2006.

Bill was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Columbus Club Board of Directors for a number of terms. He was also a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kathy; his three sons: Terry, Todd and Brad; 29 nephews and nieces; extended family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Dorothy Smith, Vivian Gard, Eileen Fulcher, and Sister Donna Marie; two brothers, Raymond and Kenneth Landgraf.
