| Vincent McKenna, age 93, of Albert City, Iowa and formerly of Storm Lake, Iowa, died January 19, 2010 at Pleasant View Home in Albert City.
Vince was born on August 16, 1916, in Storm Lake, Iowa to John Hubert and Sarah Grace (Coyle) McKenna. He was baptized and later confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake, Iowa where he was a lifelong member of both the church and of the Knights of Columbus organization. Graduating in 1934, Vince not only attended school at Providence High School in Sulpher Springs, Iowa, but he also drove the school bus for the district. Vince was in the United States Army for four years during World War II. Vince farmed with his brothers in the Storm Lake area all of his working life. In addition to farming the land, raising livestock, and raising vegetables in his garden, Vince was an avid toy collector. Survivors of Vince include his brother, Nate McKenna of Storm Lake, Iowa, and his sister, Mary McCoppin of Washington Court House, Ohio. He is also survived by the following nieces and nephews: Phyllis (McCoppin) Coffee, Dennis McCoppin, Bevery (McCoppin) Bornholdt, David McCoppin and their families; John Demers, Frank Demers, Dan Demers, Ben Demers, Jim Demers and their families; Pat McKenna, Joe McKenna, Jane (McKenna) Langner, Ruth (McKenna) Thielges, Anne (McKenna) Webber, Beth (McKenna) Fischer, Joyce (McKenna) Falck and their families.
Vince was preceded into death by his parents; brothers, Frank, Tom, and Linus McKenna; a sister and her husband, Margaret and Albert Demers; brother-in-law, Forrest McCoppin; sister-in-law, Deloris McKenna; a nephew, Ed Demers; and two nieces, Elizabeth McCoppin and Theresa Demers.
